About this event

What makes Zionsville’s historic village so special, and how can it preserve its unique character while embracing the future?

SullivanMunce Cultural Center invites the community to explore these questions at “Preservation by Design: Protecting the Character of Zionsville’s Village,” a presentation by architect Todd Rottmann, AIA.

Zionsville’s historic village is known for its charming brick streets, distinctive architecture, and small-town atmosphere. As the community continues to grow and evolve, preserving the architectural character and historic identity of the village remains an important conversation.

During this engaging presentation, Rottmann, a registered architect, registered interior designer, and LEED Accredited Professional, will explore how thoughtful design, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse can help maintain Zionsville’s unique character while supporting a vibrant future.

Through local examples and practical insights, attendees will gain a better understanding of how architecture and preservation can work together to protect the places that define our community. The presentation will also encourage discussion about balancing new development with the historic features that make Zionsville distinctive.

The program is part of SullivanMunce Cultural Center’s “Preserving Our Place: A Lecture Series on History, Heritage, and the Future of Our Community.” The series encourages conversations about the importance of historic preservation, community identity, and the role residents can play in protecting the places that tell our stories.

Whether you’re interested in architecture, historic preservation, or community planning or you simply love Zionsville’s village, you’re welcome to attend this free event and learn more about preserving the character of the community for generations to come.
