November birthdays will be celebrated!

Save the date for something I've wanted AAWI to do for a while -a cozy Friendsgiving at my house!

No formal program. No dressing up. Just an afternoon/evening to eat, laugh, relax, learn a little more about one another and enjoy being together.

Cozy attire encouraged! Think pajamas, lounge sets, sweats or comfy clothes in our Friendsgiving colors: brown, tan, beige, cream and white. No need to shop - just come comfortable!

### BRING SOMETHING WITH A STORY

Here's what will make our table special:

Every guest will bring a restaurant or store-purchased dish to share that connects to your culture, your family, your childhood, a tradition or simply something that has a story behind it.

Maybe it's Caribbean, soul food, a dish your grandmother always had on the table, something your family eats for celebrations, or something that immediately takes you back home.

No cooking required — we're asking that dishes be purchased from a restaurant, bakery or store.

Plan for approximately a $25+ food contribution . We'll coordinate categories ahead of time so we have a good balance of main dishes, sides, appetizers, breads, desserts and drinks. If you'd like to bring something more expensive, two ladies can absolutely go in together!

### AND THEN WE'LL SHARE THE STORIES

Once we're settled in with our plates, we'll go around the room and each woman will have about two minutes to tell us:

What did you bring, and what's the story behind it?

It could be about your culture, your family, your childhood, a person you love, a memory or a tradition.

Nothing formal and definitely no speeches. Just a chance to learn something about the women we're sitting around the table with.

And THEN…

We'll celebrate our November Birthday Ladies!

Some of us may pull out the games.

Some of us may settle in for a funny, feel-good movie centered around family, friendship or girlfriends.

And some of us may just sit around talking!

That's the point.

**4–8 PM. No rushing. No big production. Just fun!

Payment of $10 will be due by Friday, October 23 to reserve your spot. We are not playing with you lol. We can't have anyone messing up our sides. You will receive $9 back.
