Byte Club

About this event

In this discussion group, we talk about video games: their stories, mechanics, artwork, music, characters, themes, personal connection, impact on society, etc. Share ideas, learn about new games, and build a community around our love of this interactive art form. Every month, we’ll get together for an hour to talk about a specific game we’ve played or some broader topic related to gaming.

This month’s topic is “Genre Study: Roguelike/Roguelite.” Maybe you want to slay a spire. Maybe you want to bind Isaac. Play through a game or two in the genre, then we’ll discuss what we think makes some Roguelike games immensely satisfying and others frustratingly unfun. Join us as we try to figure out what makes us want to try “just one more run” before bedtime.
