About this event
Please sign up ahead of time for Morning Mysore. Mysore-style Ashtanga is a self-led practice, meaning you may arrive anytime during the practice window and move through your sequence at your own pace. All practices must finish by 9:00 AM, so please allow enough time to complete your practice before the room must transition to the next class. Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of yoga passed down through Sri T. Krishnamacharya. It synchronizes breath with a progressive series of postures, creating internal heat and a purifying sweat intended to detoxify muscles and organs. Beyond developing a strong, flexible body and a calm mind, this progressive process supports multiple levels of health and well-being. Over time, the sequence is intended to be memorized, allowing the practice to unfold as a moving meditation. In a Mysore-style class, students move through the sequence at their own pace while receiving individual guidance and hands-on support from the teacher. Because of this format, students may be practicing at different levels and speeds. Beginners or those new to Ashtanga are absolutely welcome in this uplifting, mixed-level class environment and will receive guidance from a dedicated Cityoga Ashtanga teacher.
