About this event

KIDS ON THE WHEEL: 4-WEEK POTTERY CLASS Let them make a mess somewhere that isn't your house. For four Wednesdays in November, your kiddo gets to take over the pottery wheel and learn one of the oldest—and coolest—ways humans have been making things for thousands of years. This four-week beginner wheel-throwing class is designed especially for ages 8–13. We’ll start with the basics and build from there: getting comfortable with clay, learning how to center, pull walls, shape pieces, and eventually turn that mysterious spinning blob into something they can proudly announce is a bowl. Probably. Over four weeks, they'll build real pottery skills, get plenty of hands-on wheel time, and make pieces that are actually fired and finished—not sent home as a sad lump of air-dry clay you have to display forever. THE DETAILS Wednesdays in November 12–1 PM Kiln Creations Noblesville — 60 N 9th St Best for ages 8–13 Registration includes: Clay for class Pottery wheel time Their own tool kit Instruction throughout all four weeks Bisque firing for everything they make Glaze firing after the class session ends Four glorious hours of someone else being responsible for the mess We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that can handle some clay. Pottery wheels are messy. That's half the fun. No previous clay experience is needed. This class is all about learning the fundamentals, getting comfortable on the wheel, and discovering just how weirdly satisfying it is to make something from a lump of mud. Come get muddy. Make some pots. Learn a ridiculously old skill. Finished pieces will be bisque fired at no additional charge. Glazing and glaze firing are included and will take place after the four-week class. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
