About this event
The Carmel Apprentice Theatre is thrilled to present Once Upon a Mattress , the hilarious musical retelling of The Princess and the Pea !
In a far-off kingdom, no one is allowed to marry until Prince Dauntless finds a bride — a task made nearly impossible by his overbearing mother, Queen Aggravain. Enter Princess Winnifred the Woebegone, affectionately known as Fred: bold, boisterous, and definitely not the delicate princess the Queen had in mind.
With a scheming queen, a silent king, desperate lovers, ridiculous tests of royal worthiness, and a whole castle full of colorful characters, Once Upon a Mattress turns the classic fairy tale on its head. Featuring memorable songs, big laughs, and plenty of heart, this musical comedy is a celebration of being exactly who you are.
