- ➤ The Heartland Film Festival was named the No. 1 Best Film Festival by USA TODAY 10BEST Reader’s Choice Awards on March 11 and held the top spot for 28 days. The 35th Anniversary event will feature screenings at theaters including The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at The Square from Oct. 8 to Oct. 18. Current
- ➤ Roots rockers The Bacon Brothers will headline the Center Celebration 2026 gala at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 19 at the Payne (and) Mencias Palladium. - ➤ Strong storms moved through central Indiana on March 11, prompting a tornado watch until noon and severe thunderstorm warnings near Carmel. A rotating storm was observed just west of Carmel as it moved toward Fishers and Noblesville, and hundreds experienced power outages. WTHR

- ➤ Developer Himanshu Garg (who bought the 5-acre Woodland Shoppes in January) met with tenants to discuss potential short- and long-term redevelopment plans. He said no changes will affect businesses today, though redevelopment could impact the site in 18 to 24 months. Current
