COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Carmel Gala 2025 will take place on April 26 at Ritz Charles—raising funds for the Carmel Youth Assistance Program that supports at-risk youth with tutoring, mentoring and essential services. The event will also celebrate CYAP’s ten years of service—marking a milestone that will help expand programs like transportation support for families.  Carmel Monthly

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Carmel Clay Public Library will host Library After Dark this Saturday, April 26, from 7 to 10 p.m. as a fundraiser for library programs, and the event will feature an indoor mini golf course, an arcade room, food from over 45 local restaurants, and a signature cocktail from West Fork Whiskey—an evening designed to draw community members for an interactive night at the library.  Carmel Monthly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Carmel Clay Schools apologized for inappropriate content shown at a booth on March 7 during the International Festival at Smoky Row Elementary—school leaders promised to update display guidelines to prevent a repeating incident, as noted in an email on March 17.  Current

HEALTH NEWS

  • Trinity Free Clinic in Carmel started a pilot Food RX program in February to help patients with chronic illnesses get food that fits their diet from the Merciful HELP Food Pantry — patients meet with a volunteer dietician each month and the program will be evaluated by July to decide if it should expand.  Current

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Displaced Timber Creek condo owners in Carmel have faced repeated delays in rebuilding after the April 17 fire and are still forced to live in temporary housing—many struggle with extra mortgage and HOA costs. The project is expected to allow residents to move back in late May or early June, although uncertainty continues to cause financial and emotional stress.  Current

  • Carmel Rugby Football Club is a non-profit high school club open to boys and girls from schools without teams that is preparing for its spring season starting mid-March through May. Club officials, including director Jeff Russell, are working to boost membership and secure local sponsors to support a modest budget—inviting new players to experience the sport.  Carmel Monthly
  • John Simmonds — a coach with over 30 years of experience including three state titles — is set to lead the Carmel High School Women's Soccer team as its new head coach. He plans to strengthen the program by recruiting local talent and promoting growth on and off the field.  Carmel Monthly
  • On Monday night the Pacers won 132-130 over Minnesota as Obi Toppin hit his fourth 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds left in overtime — he scored a season-high 34 points while four starters were out, ending the Timberwolves' eight-game win streak.  WTHR
