  • Workers installed a music-themed playground along the Monon Greenway north of City Center Drive on March 20 as part of a $14M upgrade that includes new roadways and paths. City Engineer Bradley Pease said the $2M facility will open by July 4 to complete a network of parks and trails.  Current

  • Kem Krest will close its Carmel facility at 1000 E. 116th St. by Aug. 31, with layoffs for 77 employees beginning no earlier than May 9 after filing a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification on Mar. 10.  Current

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Sunrise on Old Meridian, 79-year-old Dan Peters leads a monthly Tech Talk class where residents learn how to use smartphones, avoid scams, and explore AI tools. The session helps seniors stay secure and connected with family and friends.  WTHR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Daniel Parolek, a nationally recognized architect who coined missing middle housing, presented his ideas to city leaders yesterday to address rising housing costs and limited land in Carmel. The presentation — which focused on duplexes, triplexes, and four-plexes — is part of an ongoing study to guide future housing decisions.  WRTV
