CULTURE NEWS

  • The lineup for this summer's Symphony on the Prairie was announced Tuesday and features tributes to The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, Queen and others with shows starting June 27 at Conner Prairie in Fishers. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, April 8 at 11 a.m.—they can be purchased online, at Kroger or at the Hilbert Circle Theatre box office downtown.  WTHR
  • Hamilton East Public Library will host its 9th annual Local Author Fair on April 12 at FORUM Events Center in Fishers — nearly 70 local authors will present exhibits, conduct book signings, and offer story times and short readings for all ages. Four free writing workshops will take place at Fishers Library that morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. as space is limited.  The Hamilton County Reporter

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Mike Braun signed two executive orders on Tuesday to upgrade the BMV digital system and fix the state permit process. The orders direct officials to build a 5-year plan for the BMV and review INDOT processes so that rules are clearer—steps meant to improve service for Hoosiers.  The Hamilton County Reporter

  • The Indiana Pacers clinched a playoff spot after Atlanta lost to Portland, securing a top-six Eastern Conference ranking that avoids the Play-In round. The team will play five games at home—starting today against the Charlotte Hornets—and is offering presale access to playoff tickets ahead of the first round beginning April 19.  WTHR
  • Ron Eaton and his daughter Emily and Tom Anderson and his daughter Carly have run races together since the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and are headed to the Boston Marathon on April 21. The Eatons will run using a charity bib from Back on My Feet while Anderson earned his entry by beating his Carmel Marathon time—both pairs value the special time they share on the road.  Current
