- ➤ On Thursday, Duke Energy crews worked to restore power after severe thunderstorms and an EF1 tornado struck Carmel. At 7:30 p.m., 25 active outages affected 158 customers as wind gusts of 65 to 80 mph broke poles, brought trees into power lines and flooding slowed repairs while additional crews were deployed to speed service.
