- ➤ On Wednesday night, twelve tornadoes touched down across Indiana, increasing the year’s total to 31. In Carmel, an EF-1 tornado hit near the Arts and Design District and damaged homes — no injuries were reported. WTHR

- ➤ Carmel officials named Lane Young as the city’s new director of utilities starting April 18—succeeding John Duffy after 33 years—and Carmel Clay Schools appointed Holly Herrera as assistant superintendent effective July 1. The city also announced a Monon Depot open house on April 26, a National Day of Prayer on May 1 with Mayor Sue Finkam, and a Salvation Army Drive on May 3. Current

- ➤ Hamilton Southeastern ended tournament play in Knoxville, Tennessee last Saturday with three wins and one loss — winning 8 to 2, 10 to 9, and 17 to 1 before falling 7 to 6 to Knoxville Halls.
