EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ With a shortage of school psychologists affecting local schools, the University of Indianapolis will launch a new master of arts program this fall—rolling applications mean there is no deadline—to help fill the gap. Franklin Township Schools have already spent an extra $500,000 on contract services due to the shortage. WTHR
- ➤ Carmel High School invites Class of 1976 alumni to attend its 50th reunion on Sept. 18 and 19. Interested alumni can email the planning committee ([email protected]) for details about reconnecting and a tour of the school. Current
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Mike Braun suspended Indiana’s sales tax on gasoline for 30 days starting April 8 after prices topped $4.10 a gallon & state senators supported the measure to ease cost pressures linked to the Iran conflict. WTHR
- ➤ The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is hosting listening sessions to gather feedback on energy affordability as complaints about high utility bills grow. A session is being held today in Noblesville from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.—additional sessions will take place in Gary, Indianapolis, and Terre Haute. WTHR

- ➤ Maria Marchesano will leave Purdue Fort Wayne, where she led the team to three consecutive 20-win seasons, to become the new head coach for Butler Women's Basketball, her alma mater. An introduction is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 10 at noon in the Wildman Room at Hinkle Fieldhouse. WTHR
