Mike Braun signed nine executive orders on April 15th to launch his Make Indiana Healthy Again program in Indianapolis—these orders limit welfare spending by requiring able-bodied SNAP recipients to work and call for studies on food dyes, diet-related chronic illness, and local food access while restricting candy and soda purchases with SNAP benefits and tightening Medicaid eligibility standards. He signed the orders with U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz as he focuses on improving health and employment programs. WTHR
- ➤ State Rep. Victoria Garcia Wilburn voted against Senate Bill 1 that passed last week, a measure set to raise local income taxes while cutting funding for schools, police, fire, and EMS services.
