- ➤ Carmel community groups will host a series of events in early May, including a Home Place block party on May 3 with a food truck and ice cream social, a National Day of Prayer on May 1 at City Hall with Mayor Sue Finkam and a children’s choir, and a Salvation Army drive at Carmel Middle School. Local organizations also announced new leadership appointments at Mesh Systems and Telamon, a new office opening for Howard Bailey Financial, and additional public safety, health and volunteer initiatives—showing a busy slate of activities aimed at supporting residents. - ➤ Carmel swept a doubleheader on Saturday over Fort Wayne Carroll by winning the first game 13-2 (in five innings) and the second 8-1. The team is 8-6 and will play at Center Grove on Thursday before hosting Avon on Friday and traveling to Zionsville on Saturday. The Hamilton County Reporter
