  • A block party will be held on May 3 from noon to 4 p.m. at the intersection of 106th Street and College Avenue to celebrate a yearlong process for the community’s vision. At 12:30 p.m.—Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam and the Greater Home Place Neighborhood Association will dedicate a new sculpture while food trucks, an ice cream social, live music, games, a community mural, and the 'This is Home' plan add to the event’s activities.  Current

  • Owner Coleman Gerstner announced The Back Nine Golf Carmel will open its indoor golf simulator facility at Carmel City Center offering 24/7 access for members and public tee times with free demonstrations starting today.   • Tim Wright, 72 years old and a longtime pedal steel player who performed with his brother Tom until February, continues his music career in local venues. He will perform with the Steel Petals at Feinstein’s cabaret at Hotel Carmichael on May 2 and with Barometer Soup at the Sunset Music Fest on June 21 in Carmel.  Current

  • Colts GM Chris Ballard said the team drafted dynamic tight end Tyler Warren to boost playmaking and later added players to strengthen both offense and defense, including running back D.J.   • Jenna Reed, an Indiana University senior double majoring in fashion design and advertising, won the Fashion Within Sports contest by designing a tunnel fit outfit that Pacers star Aaron Nesmith wore at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on April 11.
