- ➤ Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation received a $1,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to update equipment for its month-long Adaptive Culinary Creations program that teaches participants healthy cooking skills. - ➤ During an April 21 council meeting, Carmel councilor Rich Taylor said officials would raise fines for parking on sidewalks and trails to deter non-permitted parking — the changes would increase first offense fines from $10 to $200, second from $25 to $250, and later offenses from $100 to $2,500. The proposal will be reviewed by the land use and finance committees before returning to the full council for a vote. Current
- ➤ Construction on Carmel’s 156th roundabout at East 96th Street and North College Avenue will begin on or after May 5 and finish in July to enhance traffic safety, pedestrian access and connectivity along North College Avenue.
