COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Councilor Jeff Worrell launched the Carmel Civility Foundation to share Project Civility tools with communities and will host a national summit at the Carmel Clay Public Library on Sept. 26 and 27 for 200 invited leaders—local efforts also plan a community-wide event in July.  Current

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering lost its Carmel facility after a fire in May 2024 and used the Palomino Ballroom kitchen for a sold-out season. The business is now preparing to move into new headquarters at 4306 W. 96th St.—a larger showroom that will not include restaurant space—and plans to open soon.  Current

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Carmel City Council voted Monday to form a new investigative committee to look into the actions of a prior probe that had shut down local nonprofits and led to resignations after questioning Christkindlmarkt spending. The council may appoint another commission next month—further extending the chain of reviews.  The Hamilton County Reporter

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Dwellane is a new real estate platform created by veteran agent Sam Hawkins that uses neighborhood details to help buyers learn about local communities before they decide. The tool offers detailed neighborhood pages—covering schools, parks, and local spots—and will soon expand to areas like West Lafayette and Bloomington.  Current

  • The Indiana Pacers won Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 120 to 119 in Cleveland—guard Tyrese Haliburton hit a game-winning three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left. The Pacers now lead the series 2—0 and will host Game 3 in Indianapolis on Friday.  WTHR
