GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Indiana lawmakers are debating tolling on interstates (including I-70 and I-65) to fund road repairs as falling gas tax revenue fails to cover maintenance costs. The new law makes it easier for INDOT to seek a federal waiver, and if approved, the process could take up to five years amid mixed feedback from local drivers. WTHR
- ➤ Carmel City Council remains divided on a proposal to cap rentals at 10 percent and require landlords to register after a Finance, Utilities and Rules Committee meeting on May 12. The full council will vote after further review while DOCS Director Mike Hollibaugh warned the cap may be hard to enforce—leaving future actions uncertain. Current
