- ➤ Today in Carmel, Nick Weber was named chief of staff and will work with the mayor and council while continuing his role as executive director of economic development, and consultant Ryan Hudson-Peralta will present accessibility ideas on May 28 at Payne and Mancias Palladium. The city is also preparing for the Waterpark opening on May 24, scheduled town halls for House District 32, EidFest on May 31 and several other local events including a Girl Scout badge camp, sailing camps and business updates. - ➤ Brittney Sanford began working as a community service officer with the Carmel Police Department earlier this year in memory of her late father—Doug Sanford, known for his animal care work. She ranked first among 70 candidates and uses her animal control skills to help with calls and support community safety. Current
- ➤ At its May 12 meeting, Hamilton County Commissioners received a $7,813,948 check from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization to fund future infrastructure projects including a roundabout, traffic signal upgrades, and a pathway project while discussing updates for a domestic violence center on Ind. 38 with Noblesville nonprofit Prevail. They also considered hosting The Wall That Heals Project and will draft an operating agreement soon—next meeting is set for 1 p.m. May 26. Current
