- ➤ Mary Kroger, a long-time Carmel resident, and her friend Pat DeReamer have exchanged the same birthday card for 81 years, a tradition that began when they were 14 in 1944 in Indianapolis—using a card with a cartoon dog and red polka-dot bow tie.
