- ➤ Several Carmel Dads’ Club soccer teams made signs to support Edward Areces — a third-grade student at Woodbrook Elementary who was hit by a vehicle on May 1 near 116th Street and Gray Road — and he returned home after receiving hospital treatment. Current

- ➤ The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office issued a Silver Alert for Neal Williams—a 77-year-old man last seen at 9 a.m. May 22 in Brownsburg—because he was believed to be in extreme danger and may have needed medical help. WTHR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Last Saturday—Westfield, Fishers and Carmel girls tennis teams won their sectional championships with 5-0 victories as Westfield beat Noblesville, Fishers defeated Pendleton Heights, and Carmel earned its 33rd title by overcoming Guerin Catholic. Westfield will face Alexandria in Regional 14 on Tuesday—Fishers and Carmel will play in Mt. Vernon and Lebanon respectively in their semifinals. The Hamilton County Reporter
- ➤ At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, fans are arriving early today as officials set up pre-race traditions for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500; Track Team 13 (the team providing live updates) has shared details on the opening of the Snake Pit, red carpet appearances and other race day events. - ➤ Hamilton County has announced track and field regional qualifiers for next week’s meets at Lafayette Jefferson, with the girls competing Tuesday and the boys on Thursday. - ➤ The Fishers Unified track team defended its sectional championship last Saturday at Beaver Stadium in Noblesville by scoring 116 points to edge out Noblesville and Westfield, and all three teams will meet at the Kokomo regional this coming Saturday — marking the Tigers’ third sectional title since 2019.
