Good morning, Carmel.

Carmel resident James Thompson is an 89-year-old Air Force veteran who served for 23 years on military space programs and fought hurricanes in Bermuda.

In retirement he writes books about his storied career—he also volunteers with local service groups such as the Carmel Lions Club.

Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre will present 'Summer Solstice' at The Tarkington at Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel at 7 p.m. on June 6 and 5 p.m. on June 7.

Dancer Abigail Lessaris said the show will feature three pieces that blend dance with spoken word — including a collaboration with Indianapolis poet Bruce Ford.

Alex Palou, a 28-year-old Spaniard, held off Marcus Ericsson with a daring pass on Lap 187 to win his first Indianapolis 500 on Sunday—he has won five of the six IndyCar races this season and is aiming for a third straight championship.

Yesterday, May 25, the sold-out Indianapolis 500 at Speedway attracted 350,000 fans—celebrities such as Tom Brady, Keanu Reeves, and Terry Crews were seen in the crowd.

The event brought together sports and entertainment icons and marked one of the most high-profile race days of the season.
