- ➤ Carmel Food Truck Nights run Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. until Oct. 17 at Ginther Green, 930 N. Range Line Rd.—The event, started by Steven and Olivia Guistolise on May 9, features 8 to 10 rotating mobile vendors with live music and games and may become an annual series if demand grows. Current
- ➤ Police and Kroger staff will host a four-hour ‘Pack the Cruiser’ food drive Saturday at local Kroger stores to collect essential food items for children and families lacking summer nutrition. Officers at Carmel stores will provide shopping lists for donations such as peanut butter and canned produce — an effort that supports Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank — while stores in nearby Fishers, Noblesville, and Westfield join the initiative. - ➤ Today, Altrusa International of Hamilton County installed its 2025-26 officers and donated $100 to benefit Tools for School while purchasing items for the Cicero Public Library (members also read to Head Start students). - ➤ Carmel and Guerin Catholic will play in the Indiana Girls Lacrosse Class 2A state championship game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Materials Field in Noblesville; Carmel beat Bishop Chatard 17-8 Tuesday while Guerin Catholic defeated Hamilton Southeastern 14-6 Wednesday. - ➤ Tyrese Haliburton had a historic game on Tuesday for the Pacers when his father John returned to Gainbridge Fieldhouse after more than two weeks—Haliburton scored 32 points, had 15 assists, 12 rebounds and four steals with no turnovers to help beat the Knicks 130-121. His record makes him the first postseason player with these numbers since turnover tracking began, and his father’s return was a meaningful moment for him. WTHR
- ➤ Hamilton Heights beat Jay County 3-0 on Wednesday to reach the sectional championship game at Delta and will face Yorktown at 6 p.m. tonight; pitcher Lily Cash threw a complete game (allowing one hit) as coach Shelby Wills said the team prepared with extra practice over the past week and a half.
