CRIME NEWS

  • Trey Williams, a teen charged with reckless homicide for the March 1 fatal crash that killed 18-year-old Mason Alexander near Geist Park, appeared in adult court Monday—his bond was raised to $50,000 and a jury trial is set for Oct. 6.  WTHR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On June 2, Carmel City Council unanimously approved an ordinance that caps single-family rentals at 10 percent in each neighborhood and requires landlords to register with the Department of Community Services, with existing rentals needing to register by the end of this year and enforcement to begin in 2026 (properties rented to family members, military personnel, or those facing hardships are excluded).  Current

  • Carmel resident Becky Ives volunteers with Imerman Angels — a nonprofit that provides one-on-one support for cancer patients and caregivers — after losing her mother to lung cancer and finding comfort in peer mentoring.
