COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Neighborhood swim clubs in Carmel have kicked off a short season for kids ages 5 to 14 that focuses on fun and community building— the Woodland Springs team, capped at 120 swimmers, began practices the day after Memorial Day and will run until June 26.  Current

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Strawberry growers from Spencer Farm and Chandler’s Orchard described very different yields this season after heavy spring rains and hail affected their crops—Spencer Farm produced 95% of its usual strawberries while Chandler’s Orchard produced about 75%, and both farms plan to offer picks later this week.  WRTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Starting Line Preschool in Carmel has completed its 30th year after being founded in 1994 by Diane Atkins — a local 1985 graduate who focused on teaching life skills — and now serves 25 to 30 young children from age 2 to Pre-K. The school offers summer camps and will return to its regular hours when Carmel Clay Schools begin in August.  Current
