- ➤ Heartland Film announced its eighth annual Indy Shorts International Film Festival presented by F.A. Wilhelm Construction Co., which will run from July 22 to 27 at local venues and via streaming. The festival will feature 253 short films from 36 countries — including 42 World Premieres — with filmmaker Q&As following most screenings and opportunities to compete for over $35,000 in prizes. - ➤ Michael Beresford, who led Carmel Clay Schools for seven busy years since summer 2018, faced challenges from a boiler explosion to the pandemic and is set to retire on July 1—his service was celebrated on June 9 and his successor, Thomas Oestreich, will continue the district’s current operations.
