- ➤ Carol’s Dream Big wish to reunite with her family was granted by Independence Village of Carmel—she flew to Minnesota on June 7 for a four-day trip that reunited her with her daughter Shelly and other loved ones—she visited her husband’s gravesite, attended her great-granddaughter’s graduation, and stopped by the Mall of America. - ➤ Local astrophotographer Sid Krishnamoorthi captured images from Noblesville on May 23 that show the deep space Crescent Nebula (NGC 6885) as well as the Cygnus Wall. He explained that long exposures and a star tracker are needed to counter light pollution and capture these faint objects. The Hamilton County Reporter
- ➤ Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre will present the Broadway musical Waitress starting July 17 with 48 performances running through Aug. 31 — the production features Sara Bareilles’ music and marks Keirsten Hodgens’ debut as Jenna while tickets range from $57 to $85 including a dinner buffet. - ➤ Christopher Ramirez (a Carmel High School 2009 graduate) nearly left acting for arts administration before he received a Broadway call to join the ensemble of Real Women Have Curves, which opened in late April.
