- ➤ The Carmel Clay History Museum hosted the city’s first pie-eating contest on July 4 as part of Americana on Main events, drawing hundreds of participants. Carmel police officers joined the contest (they ate apple pie) and officials hope the event will become an annual tradition (uniting the community). The Hamilton County Reporter
- ➤ WISH-TV is taking its 'WISH You Were Here' tour through Hamilton County from July into August to celebrate local stories—anchors Phil Sanchez, Fran Fronczak and reporter Marlee Thomas will visit Plainfield on July 9, Noblesville on July 17, Lawrence on July 24, Bloomington on July 31, Westfield on Aug 7, Carmel on Aug 13, Greenfield on Aug 22 and Greenwood on Aug 29. - ➤ Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut won back his title at Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July hot dog eating contest in New York yesterday — marking his 17th win in 20 outings. The Westfield native ate 70½ hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, beating 14 competitors from the U.S. and other countries after he skipped last year's contest because of a contract dispute. WTHR
- ➤ Indiana Fever announced that star guard Caitlin Clark will miss today’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks as she recovers from a left groin injury—marking her fifth straight missed game, including Tuesday’s and Thursday’s contests. She has averaged 18.2 points, five rebounds, nearly nine assists and 1.6 steals in her nine appearances this season. WTHR
