EDUCATION NEWS

  • With students returning to class this week, Carmel police and school officials are urging drivers to slow down in school zones—officers will patrol busy areas and school bus cameras will capture violations for prosecution.  WRTV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Carmel has opened an online portal for public comments on redevelopment plans for the former CNO Financial Group campus east of the U.S. 31 corridor. Residents can view proposals from three design firms and see display stations at City Hall, Carmel Clay Public Library and Monon Community Center until Aug. 11.  Current

HEALTH NEWS

  • Carmel resident Brandon Leum and former Fishers resident Erik Robinson founded nonprofit Building A Refuge to give men a safe space to talk about mental health after personal loss. The group meets monthly at the Harley-Davidson shop in Fishers and will host a Rib Fest at the Carmel VFW Post No. 10003 on Aug. 31 to raise support.  Current

SPORTS NEWS

  • LIV Golf will host its first Indiana tournament from Aug. 15–17 at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield and will feature top golfers including Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Bubba Watson. Organizers are preparing a fan village with stadium seating on the 11th hole, free concerts by Riley Green and Jason Derulo, and expect about 15,000 fans per day.  WTHR
