- ➤ Noblesville Fire reported a possible chemical explosion at 835 Wayne Street on August 7—leaving a man with minor injuries and prompting residents from the White River to N Tenth Street to shelter in place while fire departments and Hazmat teams conduct air quality tests. WRTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City of Carmel launched a design contest among three firms on Aug. 4 to develop plans for the 80-acre former CNO Financial Group campus and is accepting public feedback online and elsewhere through Aug. 11. Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation will work with city officials to ensure that green space remains a central part of the plan - officials aim to connect the redevelopment with existing park amenities and trails. - ➤ At its Aug. 5 meeting, the Carmel Plan Commission reviewed the U.S. 31 subarea plan and discussed a parcel owned by IU Health North intended for a public park—urban designer Daniella Beltran answered questions raised by local resident concerns. The commission will continue discussion at 6 p.m. Sept. 2 at Carmel City Hall and hold a full meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 19. Current
- ➤ At an Aug. 5 meeting, the Carmel Plan Commission reviewed the proposed Home Place subarea plan drafted by Cincinnati design firm Yard & Co. and listened to residents' concerns about balancing business growth with neighborhood preservation.
