  • Forrest Lucas, a Carmel resident and founder of Lucas Oil Products, died Aug. 23 at age 83—his cause of death was not announced. He grew up in poverty and built a multi-million dollar business that secured naming rights for a local sports venue—he is survived by his wife Charlotte and seven children.  Current

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hamilton County updated its 911 mapping data using the National Emergency Number Association’s Next Generation 911 GIS data model—by working with city teams from Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville and Westfield—to reduce errors and improve emergency response. The project, several years in the making, makes Hamilton County the only Indiana county with a real-time shared GIS system.  Current
