Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 28th of August.
Good morning, Carmel.
🏘️ Community
Carmel neighbors honored a woman battling cancer by putting up Christmas decorations last week, and her family will thank them with a block party (Saturday, Aug.
30 from 6 to 9 p.m.) at Windbush Way in the Waterstone Community.
🏛️ Government
Residents in Hamilton County outside Cicero say they lack voting rights on decisions affecting new housing developments and worry that rapid growth will harm their rural lifestyle.
Local officials say they are working to include unincorporated voices in planning discussions—this effort aims to preserve the community’s quiet character.
🏥 Health
Today, an AED SaveStation — a free-standing unit housing a defibrillator with 24/7 access — will be installed at Coxhall Gardens to offer quick emergency aid for park visitors.
Carmel-based non-profit Bolt For The Heart helped secure the installation and has placed 3,460 AEDs statewide for emergency use.
