- ➤ Hamilton County Council wrapped its 2026 budget hearings on September 3 at the Government and Judicial Center — councilors and staff worked to align the $324 million budget with revenue forecasts amid discussions of Senate Bill 1. New department heads joined the process and the final budget will be adopted on Oct. 13 before state approval. Current
- ➤ The Hamilton County Council approved a resolution on Sept. 3 to create 52 vote centers for the May 5 primary election, but the change still needs a unanimous vote from the county's election board and commissioners. Residents can send feedback until Sept. 13 as officials plan to let voters cast ballots at any center instead of at an assigned precinct—this move aims to reduce voter confusion and cut down on poll worker needs.
