In August 2025, Carmel American Legion Post 155 Auxiliary helped equip 23 renovated apartments at Manchester Apartments in downtown Indianapolis after a fire in Oct.
2024; last month, 28 volunteers set up 44 rebuilt units with essential items like coffee pots+ linens+ toasters to welcome homeless veterans.
🎭 Culture
The Blue School on 106th Street became part of Carmel's local farm history when Paul Fisher bought and renovated it in May 1941.
Fisher transformed the former school into a barn used for 12 years before his passing in 1953, revealing an often-overlooked chapter in the building’s life.
🏈 Sports
The Indiana Women’s Running Festival returns to Carmel on Oct.
17 at 8 a.m. at the gazebo at Carmel City Hall, offering half marathon, 10K, and 5K races with packet pickup on Oct. 16 at the Renaissance Hotel — a post-race party in Civic Square follows.
