- ➤ One year after Carmel introduced Team Bounceback in August 2024 to encourage locals to return for jobs, the six-person volunteer committee—led by attorney Carlton Anker—continues to boost local career opportunities with events and partnerships. The group hosted an invitation-only event in May with 60 attendees and will fundraise for a social media campaign to reach young professionals. Current
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Carmel neighbor, Brandom Leum, painted over a swastika on his neighbor’s fence immediately after seeing the hate symbol and reported the incident to Carmel Police—who said they would welcome any additional information from the community. WTHR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Carmel officials will host the first-ever Civility Summit next weekend at the Carmel Clay Library — council member Jeff Worrell said the event will show ways for people to accept different opinions amid rising social media negativity. Former Gov. Mitch Daniels is set to speak as leaders from across the country gather to bring new ideas to the community. WTHR
- ➤ The Hamilton County Auditor's office is redoing its work on county property values after mistakenly using the old 27.5% deduction instead of the new 40% flat rate under the property tax law. A public hearing is set for September 26th—after which updated numbers will be sent to the state and might lead to changes in local budgets. WTHR
