GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Carmel city councilor Jeff Worrell will host the Project Civility Summit on Sept 26 and 27 in Carmel to promote peaceful public discourse following concerns raised by the murder of conservative advocate Charlie Kirk on Sept 10. The summit will begin at 6 p.m. on Sept 26 with a welcome reception and fireside chat at the Carmel Fire Department Headquarters—tickets cost $97—and continue the next morning at the Carmel Clay Library Main Branch with additional speakers.  Current
  • The Hamilton County Election Board did not vote unanimously on September 18 to switch from precinct-based voting to a countywide vote center—relying on a decision where one vote was cast against despite support from the County Council and Commissioners. Precinct-based voting will remain in place for the 2026 elections, which means the county must add more polling sites.  Current
  • Hamilton County will not switch to vote centers for the 2026 elections because unanimous approval is needed—one election board member voted against the change even though county commissioners and council approved it.  WTHR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fans gathered in Speedway on Thursday, September 18th at the IMSA Street Fest where they met drivers and saw race cars—an event held ahead of this weekend’s Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  WTHR
