COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Carmel launched its online Public Art StoryMap and interactive Public Art Walking Tours map to let residents and visitors explore local art and encourage healthy living. The StoryMap offers a self-guided tour and the walking routes include a one mile route and a half mile route—tools that show Carmel’s art.  Current
  • Alexander Wittbrod-Rouse, a 16-year-old Carmel High student and defenseman for the Icehounds who died in his sleep on October 5, was known for his kindness and strong work ethic; the cause of death remains undetermined (as of Oct. 16). A memorial service is planned for Oct. 18 at Cicero Christian Church (1715 Stringtown Pike) with a reception to follow.  Current

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor Sue Finkam presented medals to top swimmers at the conclusion of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup on Oct. 12th at the Carmel High School Natatorium—she said athletes, event organizers and volunteers praised Carmel’s hospitality and smooth operations. Her remarks point to a strong swim culture that may bring more major competitions to the city in the future.  Current
