🎓 Education
Carmel Clay Schools board approved the $266 million 2027 budget and teacher contract on Oct.
21, tying both to a referendum scheduled for Nov. 3. If the referendum fails, officials will cut 10 to 15 million in expenses and cancel planned salary increases.
🏥 Health
Since last week, the Carmel Fire Department can perform blood transfusions for patients in hemorrhagic shock during emergencies.
The department collects 500ml of low-titer O-positive whole blood from Eskenazi Hospital each Friday and expects over 20 transfusions in the first year (to cut wait times).
