Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 24th of October.
Good morning, Carmel.
💼 Business
Worthington Design & Remodeling will host two free design seminars in November for homeowners planning a kitchen or bath remodel.
The first session is on Nov. 5 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Meridian-Kessler showroom at 5912 N. College Ave in Indianapolis and the second is on Nov. 6 at the Carmel showroom at 99 E. Carmel Dr., Suite 100—each session will offer guidance on budgeting, design trends, snacks, and giveaways for those who reserve a seat.
Carmel-based OneCause was acquired by Texas software company Bonterra, which announced the deal on Oct.15.
The company will continue operating in Carmel with no changes to its staff — a Bonterra company — as it expands its reach in the fundraising technology market.
📰 Economy
Matthew Darrah’s commentary explains that small businesses, which make up nearly all local firms and create many jobs, remain vital to the economy and depend on strong community partnerships to tackle rising costs and market changes.
He highlights local support from 1st Source Bank (named Community Lender of the Year) and examples like Uptown Cheapskate to show how robust banking relationships help keep money circulating on main streets.
📰 Real Estate
A trust controlled by Jim Irsay’s daughters has sold several Carmel properties formerly owned by the late Colts owner since August based on Hamilton County records.
The latest sale was a 96.2-acre parcel with an 11,000-square-foot residence at West 116th Street and Clay Center Road, finalized October 13 by Wade Haven Holdings LLC.
🏈 Sports
The Colts, with a 6-1 record and an offense led by top rusher Jonathan Taylor, are set to host the Titans as they try to extend their winning season.
The Titans are coming off a two-game losing streak and will miss three key defensive starters — a challenge they hope to overcome.
