EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At the Oct. 27 board meeting, CCS Assistant Superintendent Amy Dudley explained that ILEARN is now a through year assessment with checkpoint tests set for Sept. 15—Nov. 14, Nov. 17—Feb. 6, and Feb. 9—April 10, followed by a summative test from April 13—May 8. The checkpoint tests, which are computer adaptive and help mark student progress, do not count toward the final score. Current
- ➤ Parents in Hamilton Southeastern School District are worried that teachers may leave after 86% of union members rejected a no-raise contract due to state budget cuts—officials say negotiations will resume soon to reach a fair agreement that preserves teacher pay and classroom quality. WRTV
- ➤ At the Oct. 26 meeting, Carmel Clay Schools Board discussed shifting its 2026 meetings from Mondays to Wednesdays.
