Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation broke ground Oct.
27 on the $8.9 million Bear Creek Park (3777 Voyageur Way near 146th Street and Shelborne Road); the first phase will add boardwalks with an overlook, a play area, multi-use courts, restrooms, and parking, and the park is expected to open in spring 2028.
Carmel resident Jordan Davis won the World Barbecue Championship at the World Food Championships on Oct.
18 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds with a ginger sesame salmon, and his nonprofit The Smoking Pastor Project provides free meals to neighbors in need + funds itself through private catering.
