- ➤ Carmel Christkindlmarkt will open on November 22 and run through December 24 while the city continues a third-party investigation into the board changes that led to multiple resignations—City Councilor Ryan Locke is leading the inquiry into the decisions made after Mayor Sue Finkam removed two board members. - ➤ Nationwide, first-time home buyers have become older with the typical buyer now being 40 due to high home prices, rising rents and heavy student loan burdens. Jeff Ostrowski from Bankrate said in central Indiana the median home price was $315,100 and the share of first-time buyers had dropped into the low 20s — trends that make it more challenging to start buying a home.
