COMMUNITY NEWS

  • After the government shutdown ended Wednesday, community members dropped off donated food at Family Promise of Hamilton County—helping neighbors in need as SNAP benefits are set to resume for more than 40 million Americans. The donations included canned goods, cereal, and baby food to support those working toward stable housing, job training, and parenting classes.  WTHR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • FANCO—a Washington-based nuclear power company—will relocate its headquarters to Carmel in early 2026 as it plans to build Indiana’s first nuclear energy park, and the firm will hire 15 to 40 workers initially while aiming to eventually employ 5,000 Hoosiers statewide by working with Purdue for local talent. Gov. Mike Braun and company officials announced the move on Nov. 4.  Current
  • Mesh on Mass Ave, a local restaurant (15 years in service), will permanently close on Jan. 4 because the building owner is selling the property and CRG could not agree on a long-term lease. CRG said both sides agreed to end the lease on good terms and will look ahead to new plans.  WTHR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pop star Meghan Trainor will perform at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville on Saturday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. during her upcoming Get in Girl tour, joining Icona Pop and Ryan Trainor to support her seventh album Toy With Me, set for release on April 24 — presale tickets will be available on November 19 at 10 a.m. and general tickets on November 21 at 10 a.m.  WTHR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hamilton Southeastern teachers stormed out of a school board meeting on Nov. 12 — 86% had voted down a new contract with a pay freeze and rising health care costs — as they demanded better pay; the dispute must be resolved by Nov. 15 before the state assigns a mediator.  WTHR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after he played well in Berlin last weekend—he ran for 244 yards and scored three touchdowns, including his 65th rushing touchdown that broke a team record and joined him with Pro Football Hall of Famer Edgerrin James as the only non-quarterback to win the award six times.  WTHR
  • Lee Lapid scored 1:02 into overtime to give Indy Fuel a 5-4 comeback win over Rapid City after trailing 4-1 in regulation—officials ruled a last-second goal invalid. The Fuel will play two more games at the Fishers Event Center this weekend, with Friday and Saturday matchups starting at 7 p.m.  WTHR
