- ➤ A new report from the Joint Economic Committee’s minority members shows Indiana electric bills will rise 16.3% in 2025 — adding about $21 to monthly bills and costing roughly $260 extra a year, the steepest increase among states. WTHR
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health insurance company MDwise is laying off 238 employees and closing its Indianapolis office after the state canceled its Medicaid contract—citing concerns over cost and quality for more than 300,000 Hoosier members. Members in the Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Healthwise programs will choose new health plans effective Jan. 1st, 2026. WTHR

- ➤ Yelp released a list of the top 25 restaurants in the Indianapolis area based on reviews by its elite reviewers (from August 2024 to August 2025) and included only the highest-rated location for chain establishments. - ➤ On Friday night, Warren Central upset Center Grove when a fourth-quarter touchdown overcame a start of 17 to 0 and a 21 to 17 deficit to secure a 24 to 21 win—giving the Warriors their first regional title since 2018. The Warriors will face top-ranked Brownsburg next Friday—challenging them in the Class 6A semi-state round. WTHR
- ➤ On Friday night the Lapel Bulldogs beat Lutheran 38-7—securing their first regional title and a 13-0 record; they will face Brownstown Central in the Class 2A semi-state game next week. WTHR
