SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ High school boys basketball games were played across Indiana on Nov. 25, and in Carmel the local team won a 35—28 contest against Zionsville. Scores from other schools were also reported statewide. WTHR
- ➤ Twelve teams will battle for six state football championships at Lucas Oil Stadium, with three games played today and three scheduled for tomorrow. Friday’s contests start with the Class 1A game at 11 a.m., the Class 3A contest at 3 p.m., and the Class 5A matchup at 7 p.m.—Saturday will feature the Class 2A, 4A, and 6A games where teams look to break streaks or win a title for the first time in many years. - ➤ No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana will play in Indianapolis later this week if they beat Michigan and Purdue, making them the first teams with unbeaten overall records to compete for the Big Ten title. Their game will also decide the Heisman Trophy race—Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza are set to vie for the honor. WTHR
