  • Today in Carmel, kindergarten to 8th grade students may enter the 2026 Earth Day art contest and high school seniors have until Jan. 4 for the Silver Pen Writing Competition. Rental registration for (Legacy Dwellings) now extends to Jan. 31, and several community programs seek volunteer participation and applications.  Current

  • Carmel’s Christkindlmarkt was named the top holiday market by USA Today for the fifth time in eight years, and it continues to draw German artisans with authentic crafts + cuisine. The market remains open each day until Christmas Eve.  WRTV
  • 13Weather meteorologist Matt Standridge will cover Carmel's Christkindlmarkt on Friday, Dec. 19 during the TODAY show 'Merriest Main Street,' connecting with residents, tourists & officials including Mayor Sue Finkam and Christkindlmarkt CEO Julia Davis. The market is open through Christmas Eve but will not have sales during the segment.  WTHR
  • Artist Abby Pohl offers live painting at weddings, capturing real-time moments to create personal keepsakes for couples. Her process engages guests and adds a unique touch to celebrations (her work is gaining popularity in Carmel).  Current

  • Jennifer Nelson-Williams will resign from the Carmel Clay Schools board at the end of the year, leaving District 2's seat vacant—candidates living within the designated boundaries must apply. The board will accept applications until Dec. 31 and conduct public interviews on Jan. 14, 2026.  Current
