  • University High School senior Lady Carrington Craig is leading a toy drive on Dec. 20 at the school to gather toys + essential items for families at Riley Hospital for Children and Coburn Place. Craig's effort, begun when she was four, now has growing classmate support.  WTHR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Inside Duke Energy's Distribution Control Center, operators now use a new self-healing system that tracks power outages and begins repairs without needing field crews + each operator has completed specialized training to ensure rapid response.  WTHR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Debbie Gangstad, director of the Carmel Clay Historical Society, is retiring at the end of the year. She led the nonprofit through construction of the Carmel Clay History Museum with strong community support (including city and local donors) and will continue volunteering.  Current

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Colts cleared Richardson to practice after healing a fractured orbital bone but he will not join the game on Monday night, leaving Philip Rivers to start against the 49ers. The decision comes as the team seeks a playoff push.  WTHR
  • On Wednesday, Dec. 18, Indy Fuel rallied to beat Iowa Heartlanders 4-2 in Iowa with a three-goal burst in the third period led by Matt Petgrave. The team will face Fort Wayne on Friday after goalie Owen Flores stopped 21 of 23 shots.  WTHR
